The Challenge Center uses a combination of acceleration and enrichment, in order to meet the individual needs of the students. As in the past, the students will take a pretest prior to beginning a chapter. The students will then be involved in small group direct instruction (only on the skills that they need to master). When the student is not involved with the direct instruction, he/she will be applying his/her math skills by completing a variety of problem- solving projects. Included among the project choices will be the use of technology to practice, extend and demonstrate mastery of skills.
Biweekly reports will be sent home with the student to help keep you involved. Please plan to discuss these with your child, encourage and celebrate with them.
